Dağlıç

(Central Western Anatolia Region / Combined, meat and milk) The body is small. The back line is straight, the height at the withers is higher than the body length, and the chest and rump are narrow. Rams are typical, ewes are slightly ram-headed. It is usually white, but black or dark brown spots may appear around the eyes and mouth, on the ears and on the legs. There may be oval black or dark brown markings spreading from under the eyes to the face. Black-headed ones can also be found. Black or dark spots may appear on the body.

The black spots of the pied ones turn to a grizzled color as they get older. The abdomen and neck are made of fleece. Males are generally horned and females are hornless. The horns extend from head to side, are large, strong, thick, multiple folds and black pigmented. It has coarse mixed wool and a fat tail. The tail is flat, broad and hangs down in a heart-shaped manner. Its outer surface is smooth, and there is an oval mass on both sides of the central groove.

It has a high survival rate under unfavorable care and feeding conditions. Adaptability is good. It is resistant to long road walks and has developed herd instinct. Although it is an animal of hot and arid climates, it can be raised in different environmental conditions and in inadequate pasture, shelter and care feeding conditions. The pens are usually built next to a hill. It is kept in cavities at the foot of mountains in Burdur and Isparta provinces and even in open groves in places protected from the wind. It is also raised as a nomad.
